Julie M. Boyer, MPA—President, CEO
Julie graduated in 1998 from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Services, with a certification in Nonprofit Business Administration, and Drug and Alcohol Counseling, (CAC II hours, CAC III education, Dora licensure).
She graduated with a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in 2003 from C.U. Denver, Graduate School of Public Affairs. Major course of studies included: Governance in Nonprofit Organizations; Governance and Institutions; Organizational Management and Change; Information and Analytic Methods; Economics and Public Finance; Democracy and the Policy Process; Leadership and Professional Ethics and several courses in the field of Criminal Justice.
In addition, her senior project included a business plan to start a foundation called the International Women’s Empowerment Foundation (IWEF). The mission of the IWEF is to empower women through funding women’s human rights, education and equal employment organizations. Working closely with Dr. Stephen Block, Executive Director of Denver Options, Inc. and Research Professor, Director of the Nonprofit Management Program at the C.U. Denver, Graduate School of Public Affairs, Julie completed this project and graduated in December of 2003. The International Women’s Empowerment Foundation was established in 2007, and is in the process of basic business operations coordination.
In 1996, Julie started a consulting firm called Grant Funding Services. The goal of this agency was to enable nonprofit organizations to reach their mission through helping them to meet their fundraising and management goals. Her professional experience consists of fundraising and consulting services through writing and implementing strategic fundraising plans, grant research, grant proposal writing, program development, program evaluation, planned giving and budget development for nonprofit businesses, government agencies and grassroots organizations in the Denver metropolitan area, on a National and International level. Julie has also helped organizations develop major gift prospects, and cultivate relationships with and solicitation of potential donors for many nonprofit organizations.
In addition, Ms. Boyer has worked with various nonprofit organizations to research and develop funding resources on a National and International level, working with staff to develop agency programs, and has trained several nonprofit board of directors, helping them in the areas of nonprofit management, fundraising and board development. She has worked on capital campaigns for building projects, to raise millions of dollars in funding support for many organizations. Ms. Boyer has generally worked closely with the upper management of these agencies, usually with the Executive Director and the Board. Ms. Boyer’s specialty is research and development for fundraising and developing relationships with potential funders, creating grant funding cycles through in-depth request for proposal (RFP) research and helping organizations to implement those plans.
The name of this consulting firm was changed in 2007 from Grant Funding Services, to a more inclusive name of Fundraising Consulting Services, LLC. Julie is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Julie resides in Lafayette Colorado and is active in equestrian sports with her horse “Babe” including western riding and driving wagons, carts and a sleigh!
